**Daniel Farke is hopeful Joe Rodon has not suffered a serious hamstring injury after the Leeds United defender was forced off during the 1-1 draw with Brentford.**
Rodon was unable to continue ten minutes before half-time, with Farke admitting the early signs suggest the centre-back has suffered a hamstring injury.
The Leeds boss is now waiting for further assessment but acknowledged that a lengthy absence would be a significant blow, particularly given the club’s limited options in central defence.
“Joe Rodon looks like a hamstring injury,” Farke said. “It was not possible for him to sprint and running was also painful, so we have to assess him right now.
“I hope he’s not out too long because he’s a key player and especially at centre-back, we don’t have too many senior options.
“It was a difficult game for Nico Elvedi to come in, and I’m happy with how he adapted to this game. Thank God we have him with us.
“But of course, it will be a big blow if Joe is out for a while.”
Farke was also asked about Willy Gnonto amid reports of interest from Fiorentina, but insisted the winger remains fully committed to Leeds.
“With Willy, if there would be something, he wouldn’t be in the squad today,” Farke said. “I just have players who are really focused.
“I was happy that Willy was back in team training today and he adapted his body, reacted in a positive way.
“Normally, after just two days back in training after injury, you don’t find a spot, but at the moment the group is not too big. For that reason, we had him on the bench.
“It would have been brave enough to bring him in perhaps for 10 or 15 minutes today because after injury, he was not available for more minutes.
“But due to the fact that we had to substitute on the defensive position with Joe Rodon, it was also not possible to bring him in.
“With Willy, as long as he’s here, he’s fully in my plans. He was also totally focused and fully committed and didn’t have any other signs. Otherwise, he wouldn’t be in the squad.”
