Newcastle United will claw back around £4million for Nick Woltemade after Juventus agreed to pay a hefty loan fee for the Germany international.
The club record signing, who signed just 12 months ago for £69million, leaves just weeks into the Matthias Jaissle era and as the club prepare to announce the arrival of Matias Fernandez-Pardo. Many fans wondered if Jaissle would be the man to get the best out of Woltemade but the issue of finding his best position has quickly been evident after Eddie Howe used the striker in a deeper role and as the main forward last term.
Chronicle Live understands that Woltemade also had the option to sign for RB Leipzig, Borussia Dortmund and Turkish side Galatasaray, but Juventus won the race. Juve do not have any obligation to buy Woltemade in terms of a clause but would be in the box seat if they wanted to make the deal permanent.

Woltemade did not want to leave Newcastle at first, with his preferred choice to stay and fight for his place. But we understand he was told that he did not fit into the current playing style at United, with Jaissle preferring rapid players to hit teams on the break.
It was only yesterday that official talks began on Woltemade's Newcastle exit, and the player asked for extra time to think about the move, but came to the conclusion it was pointless staying where he was not expected to play.
As reported on Saturday by Chronicle Live, Newcastle paved the way for Fernandez-Pardo's arrival be sanctioning Woltemade's exit.

Woltemade - only named on the bench at Spurs - had attracted suitors ahead of the final day of trading, with Napoli and Juventus interested in a loan deal. But Napoli were quickly overtaken by Juventus, and the chance to play in Serie A in the end appealed to Woltemade.
When asked about Woltemade's exit, Jaissle told Chronicle Live: "I am not a coach who will take part in media rumours. Nick is a part of the squad, we have a strong squad and we want to be selective in the transfer market with a couple of days left."
But it appears that Jaissle has his tactical plan in place on Tyneside and with William Osula not ruled out long-term, he will get his wish to field quicker players. Osula suffered a foot injury against Liverpool and has not played since, with the Danish star out for at least a couple of weeks.
