Newcastle United forward Nick Woltemade secured a loan move to Italian giants Juventus on transfer deadline day as he looks to kickstart his career after a difficult campaign on Tyneside.
The Germany international will spend the season in Turin after Newcastle decided his opportunities would be limited after the deadline day arrival of Belgium international Matias Fernandez-Pardo from Lille.
Woltemade fell behind Yoane Wissa, Will Osula and Joe Willock in the forward pecking order under new head coach Matthias Jaissle and there remained a feeling that the 24-year-old did not fit Newcastle's system under the former RB Salzburg and Al-Ahli coach, just as there was under his predecessor, Eddie Howe.
A club statement from Newcastle read: "Newcastle United forward Nick Woltemade has completed a season-long loan move to Serie A side Juventus. The German international has featured 53 times in all competitions, scoring 11 goals, since joining the Magpies from VfB Stuttgart last summer.

"Nick appeared as a second-half substitute during Saturday’s 2-0 Premier League victory away to Tottenham Hotspur. The 24-year-old will now link up with Luciano Spalletti’s Juventus, who sit fourth in the Italian top-flight after winning both of their opening fixtures.
"Everybody at Newcastle United wishes Nick the very best of luck for the season ahead."
A Juventus statement confirmed they will pay up to £3.5million to Newcastle for the duration of his stay at the Allianz Stadium and the former Stuttgart forward has taken to Instagram to address his move in a post captioned: "Next chapter: Torino."
Woltemade will go straight into the Juventus squad for this weekend's Serie A clash at home to AC Milan and he will also compete in the Europa League with the Bianconeri this season.
