Teun Koopmeiners is one of the players Juventus hoped to offload in the latest transfer window, but the Dutchman remains on their books.
He has had two seasons to prove himself but has managed to perform worse the more time he has been given to demonstrate his worth to the team, which has frustrated Juve. The Bianconeri invested heavily in him, expecting his quality to make a difference.
Juventus still back Koopmeiners
The Old Lady spent a huge sum of money to sign Koopmeiners from Atalanta because they believed strongly in his ability, but he has not repaid that trust so far. The midfielder was one of the best players in Serie A before joining Juve, yet he cannot even start for the Bianconeri at the moment.
Koopmeiners could therefore play very few matches for Juventus if his situation does not improve. The men at the Allianz Stadium still see him as a player who can and should be performing better, and they will hope this is the season in which he finally transforms his fortunes.
Failure to sell Koopmeiners means he will continue to have opportunities to impress. Juventus were unable to find a suitable move for him, leaving the midfielder with another chance to demonstrate why they invested so heavily in his signature.

Poggi believes Juve made right decision
Paolo Poggi suggests it is a good thing that Koopmeiners was not sold by the Old Lady. He believes Juventus should retain quality players and find the right way to bring out their abilities rather than simply moving them on.
Poggi said via Tuttojuve:
“We know Koopmeiners’ qualities, if he’s signed in the right way and if they find the key to expressing his qualities…Juventus must keep quality players. Juventus must keep them and eventually integrate them. They did well to keep him.”
Poggi’s comments offer encouragement to Koopmeiners, who now has another opportunity to prove his value at Juventus. The Bianconeri will hope he can rediscover the form that made him one of Serie A’s best midfielders before his move to Turin.
For now, Koopmeiners remains part of Juve’s squad and will have to fight for opportunities under the manager. If he can finally find his best level, the decision not to sell him could eventually prove worthwhile for the Bianconeri.
