Juventus have confirmed that Khephren Thuram underwent knee surgery in Lyon on Thursday morning, and that Juan Cabal has picked up a separate muscle injury in training.
According to a medical bulletin published by the club, Thuram had a chondroplasty procedure to treat patellar chondropathy in his right knee.

It was carried out by Dr Bertrand Sonnery-Cottet at the Hopital Privé Jean Mermoz in Lyon, with Juventus head of medical Dr Luca Stefanini present.

The club described the operation as a complete success and said the midfielder will begin his rehabilitation programme from Friday. No return date was given, though Tuttosport reported on Thursday’s front page that Thuram faces a minimum of four months out.
Juventus’ Cabal ruled out after Wednesday training session
The Colombian defender complained of a muscular problem during Wednesday’s session and underwent scans at J Medical on Thursday morning. Those tests revealed a low-grade lesion of the ‘semimembranosus muscle’ in his left thigh. Juventus did not put a timeframe on his absence.

Thuram joins Edon Zhegrova, Arkadiusz Milik and Daniele Rugani in being left off Juventus’ UEFA list and leaves Luciano Spalletti without one of his best midfielders for the Europa League league phase.
