Matthias Jaissle has opened up on his final conversation with Nick Woltemade before sanctioning his loan exit to Juventus.
Woltemade joined the Serie A giants on deadline day and insisted that his departure was down to a decision on his style of play ahead of any trading restrictions. Woltemade's exit coincided with Matias Fernandez-Pardo's arrival from Lille in a £51million deal, but the German head coach made it clear it was a decision based on how he will set up his team in the first half of the season.
Jaissle, speaking at his Press conference, said: "I really, really appreciate Nick as a player. For his quality on the pitch but also I appreciate him as a human being and the quality off the pitch. We always had good conversations, really honest conversations and he decided to take another challenge now.

"Hopefully he does well now with another top club, and we will monitor him and watch him closely. I will be curious how he is doing and I am relaly optimistic that he will shine there. He will score a lot of goals there, but he is still our player and we will stay in close contact for sure."
When asked if the decision had to be made to accommodate other arrivals, Jaissle said: "I can't say this is the sign for this club being a trading club.
"We have a clear idea of how we want to play football and how we want to recruit players. Young, talented players with profiles who fit in 100% on how we play football.
"We want to be really consistent in our approach, and this makes me comfortable looking ahead to the future because that is the base you clear in what you want to do, not only on the pitch but in all departments, we want to improve. This is special and an element of why I signed here."
Woltemade is now poised to make his debut for Juve against AC Milan on Sunday night, and Jaissle said he would be watching the game.
Jaissle said: "It was a tough decision. I really appreciate this guy, as a player for his qualities, a really special player with huge potential.
"But he decided now to make the next step to get the minutes he really deserves for his quality. Hopefully he gets the fit he wants and what Juventus are searching for.
"I told him yesterday that I will cross my fingers because he deserves to be playing and performing well, we will keep a close eye on him."
