Gabbia Juventus
Matteo Gabbia lost a bit of ground in pre-season and it seemed AC Milan could sign another defender, but now his injury is keeping him out of the team.
Throughout the summer, Milan seemed keen to add another central centre-back to the squad. Goncalo Inacio was a big target, but he was not alone, showing how much Ruben Amorim wanted to add another name.

Unfortunately, this now looks to be a problem, with Gabbia expected to miss at least the next two games after being forced out of training earlier this week.
The Italian has struggled with an ankle injury – which briefly cropped up in the summer, too – and his 17 minutes played this season only further contribute to the notion that he wasn’t 100% for the start of the season.
Gabbia’s issue ‘difficult’
Unfortunately, the defender will completely miss the trip to Turin, it now seems, with Radio Rossonera reporting that he won’t be available. Worse than that, there is no estimated timeline for his return, with the ankle problem looking ‘difficult to resolve’.

He has previously travelled to games whilst injured, and he may do so again, but he certainly won’t be involved this weekend.
Perhaps this problem is why the Diavolo tried to sign Inacio late on deadline day. Either way, it now looks like even more of a mistake that another defender didn’t arrive.
