Lucas Digne may be rueing his decision to leave Aston Villa this summer, with Luis Enrique dropping the full-back for Paris Saint-Germain's next match.
The 33-year-old represented Les Parisiens between 2013 and 2013, before enjoying spells with Barcelona and Everton and eventually moving to Villa Park in 2022.
However, after a four-year stint with the Villans, Digne made the decision to return to PSG this summer in a deal worth around £8.5million.
However, that move could have ultimately proven costly for the defender, given the club's recent turn of events.
PSG are set to take on AS Monaco on Friday evening, but Digne will play no part in the encounter.
Enrique has made the surprise decision to not include the Frenchman in his matchday squad on home soil, despite a first-choice Nuno Mendes also being absent through suspension.
Instead, Lucas Hernandez and Lucas Beraldo are a part of the squad who will play against Monaco under the bright lights of the Parc des Princes.

It is unknown as to Enrique's decision for omitting Digne from his squad, though L'Equipe report that the call is due to 'sporting reasons'.
Digne's return to the French capital has already proven disappointing.
He was left on the bench during PSG's seasonal opener with Rennes and while he did emerge in the 71st minute as a substitute in Les Parisiens' clash with Lille, it is a far cry from the amount of minutes that the Meaux-born talent will have been expecting.
It comes as Villa have struggled defensively this season, in-part, due to Digne's absence.

The Villans were on the receiving end of a shock 4-0 loss to Brighton & Hove Albion in their opening Premier League fixture of the season.
They then succumbed to a 1-0 loss at the hands of Arsenal last weekend, heading into their own third fixture of 2026/27 without a point to show for their efforts.
Ian Maatsen is once again expected to start on the left for Unai Emery as the club take on Hull City at the MKM Stadium at 5.30pm on Saturday, with hopes of turning the tide and kickstarting their season.
