AC Milan boss Ruben Amorim is yet to call upon Diego Moreira for his debut, but that should change on Sunday.

A preliminary assessment of the total €50m spent on Diego Moreira is yet to be drawn, although according to the latest indications, there won’t be much longer to wait. Moreira will be one of Amorim’s key players for the match against Juve.
He could even start, and that would be a sign of his excellent form: when assembling his weekend line-up, the coach relies heavily on the results of tests and fitness trials, without much reference to pre-established hierarchies.
Moreira would be a major stepping stone on the left over from Pervis Estupinan and Davide Bartesaghi, especially if he were to get the nod from minute one. In any case, he will be seen for the first time with the Rossoneri, after spending all 90 minutes on the bench in his first two matches.

A long absence
His last match was on May 17th in Strasbourg vs. Monaco. A few days ago, at the same stadium as his opponent, Lens, the player took to the pitch before the match to greet his former fans. He received a standing ovation from the entire crowd.
Now he’s ready to be greeted by the Milan fans, who already showed him great affection yesterday at the Via Dante store in a meet and greet. First, he waved from the window of the club’s flagship store in downtown Milan, then took photos and signed autographs.
“My first few days here have been magical; I immediately felt at home. I’m definitely ready to play and I’m just waiting for my moment,” he told reporters there. That moment seems to have finally arrived.
He added, when asked about his favoured role: “The way we play, I prefer the right flank. I spoke to the coach about it, and it’s the position where I feel most comfortable.”
Moreira is also adaptable to the left: the idea is to capitalize on his pace. “I don’t feel pressure; rather, I feel honored. It’s time to prove they were right to believe in me, and so I’ll give my all on the pitch for my team and the fans.”
