For AC Milan’s game against Juventus, Ruben Amorim will continue with a back three that is yet to concede while together on the pitch.
It has certainly been a strong start to the season for Milan and Amorim, first beating Torino 1-2 away from home and then Venezia 2-0 in front of the San Siro crowd. However, a major test is now on the cards for them: Juventus away from home.

The Bianconeri have also started well, winning both of their games, and they have scored almost as many goals as the Rossoneri (three). Based on the latest reports, Amorim is looking to keep that tally unchanged on Sunday evening.
Strong defending is the foundation
As highlighted by Gazzetta dello Sport, the defence trio will be exactly the same as in the first two games: Mario Gila, Koni De Winter and Strahinja Pavlovic. While a goal was conceded against Torino, it was after the Spaniard had left the pitch due to fatigue.
In other words, the three of them are still unbreakable when playing together, although one could argue that they perhaps got a bit lucky in some situations against Venezia. Against Torino, though, they definitely kept Ignazio Abate’s side at bay.

Gila has added a solidity that was missing, precision in possession, and great temperament. Pavlovic is his usual Pavlovic: when technique isn’t enough, his physique is there. De Winter has been the most hesitant of the three so far, but this is a great opportunity to redeem himself.
On the bench, as the pink newspaper continues, Amorim will be able to rely on the reinstated Fikayo Tomori and the youngster Sankhoun Diawara. The latter has played just 18 professional games in his career, with 14 appearances in Ligue 2 and none in the top flight.
Amorim, however, is confident in the Frenchman and thus didn’t push for a new centre-back signing in the final days of the mercato. When Matteo Gabbia is back in action as well, the head coach will have more than enough options for the defence.
