Inter boss Cristian Chivu has clarified some of the comments that he made regarding rivals AC Milan and Inter.
After the last-gasp victory against Napoli, Chivu revisited his comments regarding Juventus-Milan, speaking to DAZN. The Inter coach made a statement that had sparked some controversy in recent days.

Speaking about direct clashes against rivals, Chivu asked which matches could be considered head-to-head matches, based on the final league table last season.
“I’m tired of hearing what I heard all last year, which was also appropriate: blaming the team for what they couldn’t do,” he said.
“I think Inter were open to attack on two things at the moment: the head-to-head losses and the match against Bodo Glimt. Those were the only things that put a spoke in the wheel, to say the least.”

The Nerazzurri coach spoke after the match against Napoli – one in which Inter came from 2-0 down to win 3-2 – and he was asked about the comments that he made. His response was relayed by MilanVibes.
“I wasn’t disrespecting anyone, neither Milan nor Juventus. We all know what these two clubs mean to Italian football, and I have great respect for both of them.
“Obviously, what I said at the end wasn’t reported, that is, that for me, they’re all head-to-head matches, even against the bottom-placed team. At the end of the day, everything depends on what’s convenient and how you want to report the words.
“We know that negativity brings news, and there’s a lot of play on clickbait, on creating interactions and seeking more followers. But I understand that it’s part of the world and how things work.”
Ruben Amorim was asked for his take on what the Romanian said during his press conference on Saturday, and he went on a tangent about Milan’s lack of trophies in the past 20 years.
