Koni De Winter believes that AC Milan should have applied a bit more pressure after taking the lead against Juventus, particularly before their equaliser.
Milan and Juventus had to settle for the familiar outcome of a draw after Alphadjo Cisse’s second-half strike was cancelled out by Federico Gatti’s stoppage-time header. It was late heartbreak for the Rossoneri, though on the balance of play was probably fair.

Both head coach Ruben Amorim and centre-back Mario Gila conceded that Milan were far from their best and that a draw was the least that Juventus deserved. A point is not the end of the world though, in a stadium that Milan have rarely won at in their history.
De Winter spoke at a press conference after the full-time whistle to offer his thoughts on a game that was very close to yielding another clean sheet but for the late sting in the tail. His words are via MilanNews.
Is your performance today a response to the rumours of a centre-back signing?
“I always try to give my best, but what people say is beyond my control. I always try to do my job and do the best for the team.”
What happened after taking the lead?
“I think we played well, but we missed a lot of chances that should have been played simply. Juventus put a lot of attacking players on, so it’s difficult to press them. They did well and scored.”

Did things change without Gila?
“I didn’t watch the play again, but we should have applied a little more pressure on the ball. Between Gila and Terracciano, nothing changes for us: the name, yes, but the game remains the same.”
It is a third draw in a row against Juventus…
“I don’t know. They’re two strong teams.”
What memories do you have of Juve?
“It’s nice to be back where I grew up, nice to see people I enjoyed playing with. But we had a game to play: I’m thinking more about that.”
