Federico Gatti insists it is normal for him to never give up after scoring a late goal to help Juventus earn a point against AC Milan yesterday.
The defender has become an important player for the Juventus team, even though he may not be considered as technically gifted as several of his teammates in the current squad. Despite that, Juve continue to trust him, and Gatti once again showed that he can make a difference when the team needs a result.
The Bianconeri struggled to break through a stubborn Milan defence for most of the match, but Gatti was in the right place at the right time when an opportunity finally arrived. His late finish gave Juventus a deserved point after they had dominated much of the game.
Gatti continues to deliver for Juventus
Although other defenders may be regarded as better players, Gatti has repeatedly demonstrated that he can step up when the stakes are high. His ability to remain determined until the final whistle has made him a valuable member of the Juventus squad.
The defender’s latest goal was another reminder of that quality. Milan had managed to frustrate the Bianconeri for almost the entire contest, but Gatti refused to accept defeat and eventually found the finish that Juventus needed.
Some Juventus fans and journalists may have forgotten that this is not the first time Gatti has produced an important late goal for the club. His history of decisive moments has helped establish him as a player who can be trusted when the pressure is at its highest.

Defender proud of his determination
Gatti believes his refusal to give up is simply part of who he is. Rather than seeing his late goal as something unexpected, he views it as another example of the determination he has shown throughout his career.
Speaking to Football Italia, Gatti said:
“I’m sorry you are shocked, this is what I’ve always done in my past.
“This is my history, I have an inner strength, I never give in, I fight against everyone and everything with this level of determination.”
His comments underline the mentality that has made Gatti an important figure at Juventus. While he may not always receive the same praise as some of the club’s other defenders, his willingness to fight until the end continues to give the Bianconeri another player capable of producing decisive moments.
