Benjamin Sesko has urged Manchester United to take the positives from their frustrating 2-2 draw at Everton and quickly turn their attention to the next game.
Manchester United were seconds away from taking all three points at Hill Dickinson Stadium before Ainsley Maitland-Niles scored a late equaliser. Sesko had put United back in front in the 88th minute, making the final result even harder to take.
The striker admitted the result hurt, particularly because of the effort put in by the players.
“We’re disappointed, of course, because we were very close yet so far,” Sesko told MUTV.
“To concede a goal like this, especially in those last, last minutes, is painful for everyone because everyone was giving everything trying to win the game. We really want [to win].”
Benjamin Sesko also stressed that the desire to win runs throughout the squad.
“Every single person here wants that.”
Despite the disappointment, the forward doesn’t want United dwelling on the result. He believes the players have to look at what went well, learn from the match and move on.
“It’s really important to take everything positive, even though it’s not the best option from today.”
For Sesko, the game is a lesson rather than allowing the late setback to affect the team’s confidence.
“See the game in a good light, try to improve and focus for the next game and try to win the next game. That’s the way it is.”
