Gameweek 3 of the 2026/27 Premier League season was another barn-burner to compete with the opening two weekends, as all twenty Premier League sides took to the field in the pursuit of precious points. Arsenal kept their 100% record with a 2-1 win over Chelsea, Everton and Man United played out a thrilling 2-2 draw, while Crystal Palace snatched a 3-2 win at Fulham.

Meanwhile, Premier League clubs have now had time to process the 2026 summer transfer window. The likes of Man City and Brentford will still be grinning from ear to ear, after a highly fruitful three months of wheeling and dealing. Everton and Aston Villa may not be so chipper, with the former in particular looking threadbare after failing to land key targets.
Today’s rumours round-up begins with free agent Jadon Sancho, who is still on the hunt for a new club after being released by Manchester United at the end of last season. The Mirror are among a number of outlets to suggest that he could well stay in the Premier League, with two unnamed clubs said to be considering a move for the 23-cap England international.
They also say that a serious injury to Borussia Dortmund’s Giannis Konstantelias could open up the possibility of a third spell at the club, as they look to find cover for the Greek gem. More lucrative options could be on the table, too. There is believed to be plenty of interest from clubs in Turkey, the UAE, and the Saudi Pro League.
The 3AM Verdict: Seeing Sancho’s fall from England starter to free agent has been a real shame, given the huge promise the 26-year-old showed at the start of his career. It would be great to see him stay in the Premier League and get things back on track, but the allure of a big-money move elsewhere may prove too tempting an offer for Sancho to resist.

Next up, it’s over to Old Trafford, where Man United’s season has got off to a distinctly mixed start, with a loss, a win and a draw across their opening three Premier League matches. According to transfer specialist Ekrem Konur, the club are already thinking about the January window, and are said to have upped their efforts to sign a highly-rated wonderkid.
Both United and Liverpool are said to have “made direct contact” with Wolves over a potential move for 18-year-old Mateus Mane, despite his club being unwilling to sanction a deal. It’s suggested that it make take a bid up to £50m to prise him away from the Midlands club - a significantly greater fee than the £20m United are rumoured to be willing to pay.
The 3AM Verdict: United are looking a little light on the left, especially with Marcus Rashford’s future at the club far from certain. Mane is an exciting young talent who has bags of potential, but anything too far north of £20m would be a lot to pay for a player who’s unlikely to start regularly in the Premier League at this stage of his career. United should look for a more experienced, better value option.

We’ll finish up at the Emirates Stadium, where Arsenal are sitting pretty towards the top of the Premier League, just behind Manchester City on goals scored. Despite successes on the field, the Gunners were unable to sign a top quality new left winger over the summer, failing to bag the likes of Vinicius Junior, Yan Diomande, Julian Alvarez or Bradely Barcola, the latter of whom chose Liverpool.
According to Team Talk, their apparent plans to sign Brentford’s Kevin Schade may now also be in jeopardy. They say that the Bees have “opened negotiations” with the German gem over a contract extension, in the hope of warding off the Gunners’ interest. Schade is expected to be offered a considerable improvement on his current terms to keep him at the club.
The 3AM Verdict: It’s been business as usual for Arsenal so far this season, but once they start battling across four competitions, their squad will be tested to its limits. They blew their chance of getting the final piece of their puzzle over the summer, and making a high profile left winger signing in January may be a tall order. A mid-tier option like Schade would likely have been possible, but a new deal could well scupper those hopes.
