Bryan Mbeumo has been selected for the Cameroon national team ahead of the upcoming AFCON qualifiers against Comoros and DR Congo.
The qualifying stages for the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations will kick off later this month.
That will involve several Manchester United players – from Amad Diallo and Bryan Mbeumo to Carlos Baleba and Noussair Mazraoui.
The AFCON 2027 finals will take place from June 19 to July 17, 2027, in Kenya, Tanzania, and Uganda – with the co-hosts automatically qualified.

Cameroon begin their Africa Cup of Nations qualification campaign against Comoros on September 24, 2026, in Yaounde.
Then, Les Lions take on DR Congo on September 29.
Cameroon are set to play two friendly matches at the beginning of October, but the opponents have yet to be announced.
With the Cameroon squad announced, United forward Mbeumo has been selected and will play a key role in David Pagou’s side.
However, there is no room for the United duo Andre Onana and Carlos Baleba.
Onana is still on United’s books, despite joining Turkish side Trabzonspor on loan for a second consecutive season.
New signing Baleba hasn’t made his United debut yet due to an injury, so his omission is easier to comprehend.
This news will disappoint Onana because the goalkeeper enjoyed a decent campaign in Turkey last term.

Although there is a lot of politics within the Cameroon Football Federation, it doesn’t look like Onana is part of the manager’s plans for the upcoming AFCON.
Pagou has selected three keepers ahead of Onana.

Simon Brady Ngapandouetnbu (Montpellier)
Blondy Rudolph Nna Noukeu (US Boulogne)
Emile Merlin Lako Wendeu (Marumo Gallants FC)
It remains to be seen if Onana will find his way back into the Cameroon national team, whereas with Baleba it’s only a matter of the United midfielder recovering from injury.
