Over in the USA, David Beckham has made a TV appearance, in which he’s discussed Manchester United’s return to the Champions League.
While doing so, he has heaped praise on two players that he is thrilled to be watching back at Old Trafford.

David Beckham picks out Marcus Rashford and Kobbie Mainoo for praise
Beckham appeared on CBS Sports Golazo to talk United, in which Marcus Rashford and Kobbie Mainoo were the subject of his praise.
“Going into this season and the games so far, I like seeing Kobbie back in there. I think he’s an exceptional player. He lives and breathes Manchester United, so I think the more players that we have like that, the better.
“You know, seeing Marcus obviously come back after a great season with Barcelona, surprised to see him back, to be honest, but I’m happy to see him back because he’s a local lad, and I think that he, again, loves the club, and I think you need players like that.
“So he’s under a lot of pressure as well, even though he’s come off winning La Liga.”
Like Beckham, Rashford and Mainoo are also Carrington graduates and so he is likely swayed by this, seeing bits of himself within the two superstar players.
It is arguable that Rashford and Mainoo have been United’s two best performers this season so far in the three underwhelming outings to date.

Kobbie Mainoo is making good on world-class season hopes
Mainoo has been utterly brilliant this season for United and is now in a place where he is absolutely undroppable from Michael Carrick’s midfield.
The 21-year-old has kicked on from last season, and despite the rebuild in United’s midfield department, he remains the number one man in the middle.
It is all about who partners with Mainoo rather than whether he plays.
Ahead of this season, there was hope that Mainoo would take the next step up and enter world-class conversations and become one of the finest midfielders in the Premier League.
If the first few games of the season are anything to go by, United have a world-class midfielder already as the cherry on the cake of Ineos’ rebuild.
