Manchester United’s rocky start to the season in Michael Carrick’s first campaign as permanent manager continues with a first game back in the Champions League.
The visitors at Old Trafford are Azerbaijani champions Sabah, just eight years after being founded.
Carrick will be desperate for a positive start to the league phase after another setback at Everton, following Ainsley Maitland-Niles’s stoppage-time blockbuster.
And after a year outside of European competition, following the agonising Europa League final loss to Tottenham, United will be desperate to start working towards a top eight finish and automatic progress to the last 16.

Kick-off at Old Trafford, Manchester in the Champions League on Thursday 10 September is at 8pm BST.

What is the team news and predicted line-ups?
Matthijs De Ligt (back), Amad Diallo (ankle), Manuel Ugarte (knee) and Tom Heaton (hamstring) remain injured for United, Carlos Baleba is still not ready either.
United have a 25-man A-List squad, though a B-List includes the likes of Kobbie Mainoo and Leny Yoro.
Marcus Rashford is carrying a knock after coming off against Everton and was "feeling a bit of something,” according to Carrick.
Sabah come into their Champions League debut with confidence after thrashing Zira 5-0 at the weekend, with Rwanda international Joy-Lance Mickels hitting a hat-trick, while Serbian striker Veljko Simic is set to start.
