However, Jaap Stam has suggested that the club missed a trick in not moving for the two-time Champions League winner.
In an interiew with Betfred, he said (quotes via the Metro): "‘Liverpool got Bradley Barcola from PSG and like I’ve said previously, I would have liked Man United to have signed a winger during the summer transfer window.
"He’s the type of player we could have done with because he’s got tremendous pace and he’s unpredictable in the way he plays."

Rashford started well
After all the talk about Rashford's return to Manchester United, he has arguably been one of the club's best players in the opening games and has shown the extra dynamic that he possesses.
Especially against Everton he showed how dangerous he is when driving players when he is sprinting at full-pace and then the way he can cause chaos to the oppositon defence. He was unlucky not to pick up an assist after a brilliant move where he almost set up Cunha.
He has also revitalised the attacking ability of Luke Shaw, with the English duo rolling back the years as Shaw's dangerous overlaps and combinations with Rashford create an extra threat down the left-hand side for the club.
Given the different profiles Cunha and Rashford have, it gives the club the chance to change the attacking system depending on whether United are playing a low or mid-block or a high-line.
Where there is space, Rashford would be the best option, and then Cunha would be brilliant in tight spaces where there are not a lot of areas to run into.
