James Overy made his Sydney FC debut after coming off the bench in a 2-0 defeat against Melbourne Victory in the Australia Cup.
After spending two years at Manchester United, James Overy returned to his homeland ahead of the new A-League season.
Overy signed for Sydney FC after previously coming through the ranks at Perth Glory. He made 26 appearances for the U18s and U21s last term.
Shortly after completing his move to Sydney FC, Overy made his debut, but he must wait for a first win for the Sky Blues.

James Overy makes debut as Sydney FC suffer defeat
Sydney FC’s Australia Cup run came to an end on Wednesday as Melbourne Victory did enough to claim a 2-0 win.
Melbourne Victory, for whom Juan Mata played up until the end of last season, progressed from the semi-final clash. The Spaniard has since become an investor in Sydney FC.
Keegan Jelacic’s opener came 2 minutes in and Jordan Courtney-Perkins scored an own goal after the hour mark.
Overy was named on the bench but came on with 12 minutes remaining.
The former United academy star completed 91% of his passes (10/11) after his introduction, but he was unable to turn the game in Sydney FC’s favour with limited time on the pitch.
Still, Overy touched the ball 21 times and made one pass into the final third.
On top of that, Overy helped out in defence with one clearance, though he also committed one foul.
