**Bryan Mbeumo** has been in hot form since the beginning of the season under **Michael Carrick**, as the winger has scored two goals in his opening three games of the new campaign in the **Premier League.**
The Cameroonian scored in [**Manchester United's**](https://www.vavel.com/en/data/manchester-united/) latest game, which concluded sharing points away at **Everton** in a dramatic 2-2 draw, as Everton scored a last-minute winner.
Mbeumo will be making his **Champions League** debut against **Sabah FK** on Thursday night. However, the former **Brentford** player could have played in the Champions League much earlier, as the winger was linked with multiple clubs in the Champions League before joining United in 2025.
_“Yeah, in my head I saw a bit of the team and the players, and I knew I could have good connections with the guys here, and also I received some message from the players before I came, and I was really convinced that we could achieve something good,”_ explained Mbeumo.
**Newcastle United** were a club that had contacted the winger about a possible move in the summer of 2025. However, despite securing Champions League qualification two years running, Mbeumo joined a struggling United side that finished 15th in the Premier League.

Despite only winning one of their last nine Champions League games. And United's poor record in the competition in recent years, Mbeumo is in high spirits for their return to the competition.
_“No, obviously it’s a big step for me, coming from Ligue 2 in France to such a big club here and playing in the Champions League is a massive reward for me and I'm really looking forward to it.”_
_“Yes, I think it's the first time I watched a draw for the Champions League. But yeah, obviously really excited to play any kind of game, and yeah, every country, every team is different, and it's always good to go there and see,"_ said Mbeumo.
