Takeaways from selection
The strength of Manchester United’s squad for the academy game is impressive. Jack Fletcher will be expected to play a lead role, having previously played for the first team.
It will be particularly intriguing to see Cristian Orozco, and standout prospect JJ Gabriel in action.
One key takeaway is three missing players who are expected to be part of the first team.
Tyler Fletcher
Harry Amass
Shea Lacey
All three players have played for the under-21s this season and will be hoping to make the bench for United against Sabah in the Champions League.
Harry Amass in particular, with Luke Shaw missing training ahead of the tie with a view to being rested for Sunday’s derby.
