No Boxing Day clash for Man Utd
Perhaps the biggest headline from United’s fixtures over the festive period is that Michael Carrick’s side will not be playing on Boxing Day.
Instead, United host Nottingham Forest on Sunday 27 December. The match kicks off at 16:30 and will be shown live on Sky Sports.
Sky Sports will also broadcast United’s final outing of 2026, at home to Sunderland, at 19:30 on Wednesday 30 December.
United’s first match of 2027 sees Carrick’s side travel to Brighton on Saturday, 2 January. It will kick off at 12:30pm, live on TNT Sports.
On Thursday, 7 January, United host Newcastle at 20:00, which means the FA Cup fixture that weekend won’t be played on Saturday.

Not the first time Man Utd missed out on Boxing Day fixture
United did not play a match on Boxing Day in 2024, 2022, and 2021.
It was due to fixture rescheduling and television broadcasts.
This year will be the latest as United play Brighton on the following day.
Not playing on Boxing Day spoils a tradition adored by many United fans.
