Newcastle United are aiming to extend the contracts of two senior players after Lewis Hall puts pen to paper on a five-year deal.
Newcastle United will reportedly negotiate new contracts for Jacob Murphy and Joe Willock.
Earlier this week, news broke that Lewis Hall is set to sign an extension at St James’ Park. Manchester United had explored a potential move for the left-back in the summer but never formalised their interest.
Toon sources remained adamant that Hall would not be sold after losing Anthony Gordon, Sandro Tonali and Bruno Guimaraes. A bumper five-year contract has now been agreed and is soon to be announced.
Jacob Ramsey and Joe Willock
The Daily Mail report that Newcastle will reward Murphy and Willock with new deals in the coming months. Both players are currently set to leave the Magpies at the end of the season.
Veterans of the squad, Matthias Jaissle made it clear that he wanted to keep the pair amid the summer speculation. Newcastle rejected a £15million bid from Nottingham Forest for Murphy on deadline day.
Likewise, Turkish interest surrounded Willock all summer. The 27-year-old has already scored two goals this season - bettering his tally from last year - to justify the call.
That is not to suggest either player could stay at Newcastle beyond the current campaign. Toon chiefs are keen to retain their values rather than risk losing them for nothing in 2027.
‘Happy to be here’ - Joe Willock
Willock opened up about his decision to stay at Newcastle after scoring the winner against Millwall. He told “I'm happy to still be here. As I said, it's a massive club that's played a big part in my career. I'm really happy to still be wearing this badge and my shirt and giving my all for this club.
“As I said, it's an important club for me and I'm looking to push forward this season. I think we've got big aspirations in this season so hopefully we can reach those goals. I'm happy to be here and continue fighting and trying to play my best football and giving my best version of myself.”
