Manchester United striker Benjamin Sesko scored the third goal in the Red Devils win over Sabah.
After missing pre-season owing to a previous injury, Benjamin Sesko‘s season is up and running.
The striker scored against Everton in the Premier League before netting in the Champions League against Sabah at Old Trafford.
Sesko’s goal was expertly taken after a through-ball from Bryan Mbeumo at the end of the first half. He rounded the onrushing goalkeeper before squeezing his shot in past two scrambling defenders.
If United had attacked with the same ferocity in the second half, Sesko surely would have had a few more goals too. He was taken off with 30 minutes to spare, ahead of the derby this weekend.
Sesko’s return to prominence was welcomed in his homeland.

Slovenian media react to Benjamin Sesko
The media in Slovenia paid great attention to Benjamin Sesko’s goal against the Azerbaijani minnows.
24ur reported how at the start of the game, Sesko was ‘completely cut off’ from United’s attacking play, before finding his way into the match.
Describing his goal before half-time, the outlet lauded it as, ‘the moment that the Slovenian public had been waiting for so eagerly’.
“The Slovenian, with extraordinary mastery, in the style of the greatest strikers, bypassed the goalkeeper and set the half-time score2, they added.
Ekipa reported: “The third goal of the match was the work of the Slovenian star. And in doing so, he showed more than just a lot of football knowledge, but also a lot of pride and honour.
They explained: “Even though the goalkeeper committed a foul on him. But Benjamin didn’t even think about falling and getting a penalty, he (gloriously) continued the action and scored a brilliant goal.”
The reaction shows the enthusiasm there is for Sesko in his homeland and the great desire they have for him to succeed at Manchester United.

Where Sesko ranks among Slovenian Champions League scorers
Benjamin Sesko’s goal made him the second highest Slovenian scorer in the Champions League, with seven in total – accounting strikes for his previous club.
His goal overtook Josip Ilicic who was on six.
Sesko still lags behind Zlatko Zahovic (11), but it is only a matter of time before he overhauls him, and probably won’t be long at all.
