A Manchester United attacker has announced their return after going 11 months without featuring competitively for the club.
Manchester United have officially welcomed an attacker back after almost 11 months without playing, providing a timely boost during a busy start to the season.
The Red Devils strengthened their attack heavily in 2025.
However, the opening weeks of this campaign have still highlighted the shortage of natural touchline wingers.
United lost 2-0 at Hull City, responded by beating Ipswich Town 5-2 and then drew 2-2 at Everton before producing their strongest performance yet in Thursday’s 4-0 Champions League victory over Sabah FK.
Bryan Mbeumo has often started wide but naturally plays more like an inside forward, attacking central spaces and looking to arrive in goalscoring positions rather than constantly holding width.
Matheus Cunha can also start from the flank.
However, his game resembles a number ten drifting inside to combine and create.
Patrick Dorgu has been used higher up too, but arrived as a wing-back.
The 21-year-old looked particularly comfortable at left-back against Sabah, providing an assist in the 4-0 win.
Marcus Rashford has returned from his Barcelona loan looking sharp and offers a more traditional direct threat from wider areas.
Another natural winger, Amad Diallo remains sidelined having not played competitively this season.
However, it is not Amad who has now confirmed a long-awaited return.
Manchester United forward returns
The player is Manchester United Women forward Celin Bizet, who posted a picture from training on Instagram with the message: “Backkkkk.”
Bizet last appeared competitively on October 3, 2025, playing 14 minutes in a 1-1 Women’s Super League draw against Chelsea.
She subsequently stepped away from football after announcing her pregnancy late last year and gave birth in June.
Her return to training therefore represents a major personal and sporting milestone almost 11 months after her last appearance.
The Norway international joined United from Tottenham in September 2024.
She has since registered seven goals and eight assists across 37 appearances for the club.
Capable of playing across the frontline, Celin Bizet brings pace, direct running and an ability to attack space behind defenders.
United will naturally manage her return carefully after such a lengthy period away, but simply seeing the 24-year-old back on the training pitch is an encouraging step towards competitive action.
