Manchester United will face arguably their toughest test of the Premier League season so far on Sunday when they face rivals Manchester City.
Michael Carrick’s side were beaten 2-0 by newly promoted Hull City in their opening match of the new campaign, but bounced back by defeating Ipswich Town 5-2 in their first home game.
The Red Devils were then held to a draw by Everton last time out, with Ainsley Maitland-Niles’ stunning late strike rescuing a point for the Toffees.
Carrick will be determined to see his side return to winning ways at Old Trafford on Sunday, but ahead of that game is has emerged that the club may be set to miss out on one of their top transfer targets.
As per Italian outlet TuttoJuve, via TEAMtalk, German side Stuttgart are reluctant to sell Manchester United target Finn Jeltsch during the upcoming January transfer window.

The report claims that the 20-year-old central defender is on the radar of several clubs, including Premier League champions Arsenal and German giants Bayern Munich.
Manchester United are now said to be ready to rival other clubs for the youngster’s signature, but his current side are keen to keep hold of the player beyond January.
Having joined Stuttgart from fellow German side Nuremberg in 2025, Jeltsch has now made a total of 55 appearances for his current club across all competitions.
The defender’s current contract with Stuttgart is set to run until the end of the 2029/30 campaign, and the report suggests that the Bundesliga outfit are not planning to cash in on the player in January.
The report does suggest, however, that the club could change their stance if a significant offer was received when the window opens in the new year.
