Manchester United were linked with a move for Bournemouth midfielder Alex Scott during the summer transfer window

Manchester United have been informed of the price tag that Bournemouth are expected to put on Alex Scott next year. The Reds were linked with a move for Scott during the summer transfer window, with several other Premier League clubs also reported to be interested.
Liverpool and Chelsea were credited as potential suitors for Scott, who linked up with Thomas Tuchel’s England squad for a pre-World Cup training camp.
Scott went on to remain at Bournemouth through to the end of the summer transfer window, but that has not stopped speculation that a departure could still happen in the future, whether that be in January or next summer.
The Athletic's David Ornstein has provided an update on Scott's future prospects, including the likely asking price Bournemouth would set for the 23-year-old down the line.
Reports suggest the Cherries would expect a minimum of £100million to consider selling Scott next summer, though no precise figure has been put forward regarding what Liverpool and other interested parties might need to stump up.
The report further states that Bournemouth will maintain the same stance over Rayan and Eli Junior Kroupi, who were also the subject of transfer speculation during the summer window. Rayan is said to have a £130million release clause, though this will not become active until the summer of 2027.
United had a busy summer transfer window when it comes to midfield signings, with three of their four new additions primarily specialising in the middle of the park.

Andrey Santos, Youri Tielemans and Carlos Baleba were all signed by United to strengthen the midfield options available to Michael Carrick
Santos and Tielemans have got regular minutes for United in the early weeks of the season, while Baleba has been recovering from an ankle injury he suffered before completing a move to Old Trafford.
It remains to be seen if United will look to go into the market for further midfield reinforcements when the January transfer window opens, or wait until next summer to reassess their options.
