Diogo Dalot has revealed what he wants to achieve at Manchester United.

Diogo Dalot joined Manchester United in August 2018 from FC Porto. Fast forward eight years, and the Portuguese full-back is on the verge of making his 250th appearance in a United shirt.
Dalot's early days at United were riddled with injuries, and he was loaned out to AC Milan for the 2020/21 season. He made 33 appearances that season and finally found his feet again after all his injury woes.
Following the appointment of Ralf Rangnick in December 2021, Dalot has become a mainstay in United's starting XI. The former Porto defender has made over 200 appearances in the last four seasons in all competitions for United.
Rangnick, Erik ten Hag, Ruben Amorim and Michael Carrick all made Dalot a key part of their plans. Dalot even won the Players' Player of the Year award following his impressive performances during the 2023/24 season.
Dalot was exceptional throughout that year, and Ten Hag really got the best out of him. The Dutch manager often used Dalot as an inverted full-back, and he utilised the Portuguese international at both left-back and right-back.
Dalot had a difficult time under Amorim, as he was used as a wing-back, a role that did not suit him. He excels in build-up, and in Amorim's system, he was asked to stay high and hold the width, which was a role that did not suit him.
Under Carrick, Dalot has returned to form and will certainly play a key role during the course of the 2026/27 season.
Dalot reveals his ambitions
During his time at United, Dalot has won the FA Cup and the Carabao Cup. He now has his sights set on major honours.
Speaking to ESPN, Dalot revealed what he aims to achieve during the rest of his time at United.
"For me, it's winning the Premier League, winning the Champions League," Dalot explained.
"If you look at the time that I've been here, there's not one time that we actually competed for the Premier League, arriving in May, the last fixtures, and you're there.
"It would be the biggest achievement of my life probably, to be a part of something that would put this club fighting for those competitions because, to be completely honest, it's where this club should be.
"I know that if we get to that stage of getting close, I think we will create something around the club. That's what feeds me the most is to do whatever I can to be a part of it and hopefully get to that moment."

Dalot is underrated
Dalot is arguably the most underrated player in the current United squad. He is one of the best full-backs in the league, and while there is a section of fans who do not rate him, there is a reason that Rangnick, Ten Hag, Amorim and Carrick have all made him a key part of their plans. Jose Mourinho also spoke highly of Dalot when the pair worked together at United.
He is a technically brilliant footballer. He is progressive on the ball and is comfortable moving into midfield in build-up. He is comfortable receiving the ball on the half-turn and is press-resistant. He is also defensively solid and is aerially dominant.
He is one of the best full-backs in the league, and if he were to leave, United would have a hard time finding a replacement as good as him. United still have a lot of work to do before they can challenge for major honours, but they certainly already have a right-back who can start in a team that wins major honours.
