Manchester United Women suffered a humiliating 5-0 defeat to Chelsea as Eva Olid’s difficult start to the Women’s Super League season continued.
United entered Sunday’s game looking to respond to their opening 2-1 defeat against London City Lionesses.
Instead, Chelsea produced a ruthless performance at the Progress With Unity Stadium to leave United without a point from their opening two league matches.
Sjoeke Nüsken and Keira Walsh put the visitors in control before half-time.
Lauren James, Ellie Carpenter and Lucy Bronze then scored after the break to turn defeat into a damaging rout.
Chelsea punish Man Utd Women
Olid made two changes from the opening-weekend defeat, with Hanna Lundkvist and Monica Jusu Bah coming into the side.
Jusu Bah received her first United start after impressing from the bench against London City.

But United struggled to impose themselves from the beginning.
Chelsea controlled possession and pinned Olid’s side back for long periods, with United managing only one attempt during a difficult first half.
Nüsken eventually made Chelsea’s pressure count before Walsh doubled the advantage.
Any hope of a second-half response disappeared when Chelsea continued to dominate after the interval.
James added the third before Carpenter made it four, with Bronze completing the scoring late on.
Eva Olid faces difficult start at Man Utd
United have now conceded seven goals across their opening two WSL fixtures.
Their 2-1 defeat against London City had already exposed problems during Olid’s first competitive game in charge.
ReadManUtd’s player ratings from that defeat identified Simi Awujo as one of the brighter performers after she came from the bench to score.
Awujo again started among the substitutes against Chelsea.
This time there was no late response.
Chelsea’s five-goal victory leaves Olid facing immediate questions over how quickly she can stabilise a United side which underwent considerable change during the summer.
The fixture list offers little respite either.
United now have to recover quickly from one of their heaviest recent league defeats and find a response after a winless opening fortnight.
