Dion Dublin believes Manchester United should go all out to sign Bayern Munich talisman Harry Kane, insisting the England captain remains the “complete package” up front.
Sesko and Zirkzee Failing to Convince
United currently rely on Benjamin Sesko and Joshua Zirkzee as their recognised centre-forwards, yet neither has fully won over manager Michael Carrick. The ex-RB Leipzig man is rarely trusted with a run of starts, while Zirkzee has never quite settled since his move from Bologna two years ago. As a result, Carrick has often preferred deploying Matheus Cunha or Bryan Mbeumo through the middle instead.
Dublin Names Kane as the Ideal Fit
Speaking to TEAMtalk, Dublin argued that Sesko simply doesn’t possess the profile to hit 30 goals a campaign, meaning United must look elsewhere to challenge for major honours again. Despite turning 33, Dublin insists Kane’s lack of raw pace is irrelevant given his intelligent movement, physical strength and unrivalled understanding of English football from his Tottenham days.
“He is still the perfect striker for Manchester United, even now,” Dublin said, though he acknowledged prising Kane away from Bavaria “would take a lot of money.”
Contract Situation Could Work in United’s Favour
Kane has just twelve months left on his Bayern deal and carries a Transfermarkt valuation of roughly £51million, which could tempt the German champions into a January sale rather than risk losing him for nothing next summer.
His numbers remain extraordinary — 61 goals and seven assists in 51 games last season, plus four goal involvements in five outings already this term, alongside two Bundesliga titles.
Personally, a marquee striker of Kane’s calibre would transform United’s attacking identity overnight, giving Carrick a genuine focal point rather than a makeshift system. Whether Bayern would sanction such a move remains the real sticking point.
