Former Manchester United midfielder Scott McTominay faces an uncertain future at Napoli following reports of a gap in contract negotiations.
The Scotland midfielder has been a phenomenal addition for the Serie A side, becoming a key player and helping them to Italian top-flight success after departing Old Trafford. According to Nicholas Ceccarini for the Italian media outlet Tuttomercato Web, it has been claimed that there are contract renewal issues in Naples.
They write how 'if the gap isn't bridged, it's clear that a transfer could become a reality this summer'.
He made the move to Italy and has become one of the trailblazers for the success of British players overseas, following his move in excess of £25m.
McTominay claimed the Serie A Player of the Season for his role in guiding the club to the Scudetto 18 months ago. The Italian outlet has suggested that there is no imminent agreement between McTominay and Napoli.
Instead, it is the opposite with a gap in the parties' valuations meaning that if they fail to reach a compromise, the 29-year-old could leave Luciano Spaletti's side.
The former United man remains sidelined after undergoing an ablation procedure, a minimally invasive operation to correct an irregular heart rhythm.

He was brought off before the hour mark in Napoli's defeat to Como at the end of August and shortly after, a mild benign arrhythmia was discovered, prompting the corrective treatment.
Earlier this month, he fired a message to supporters, he said in a post to Instagram: "See you soon Napoli. I won't take long."
Napoli sporting director, Manna, who will be handling the contract negotiations, said: "Scott McTominay should join the squad after our game against Fiorentina on Sunday, September 20. He will resume full training after a fitness test.
"And Scott should then be available for the first match after the international break against Frosinone on October 10."
His procedure meant that he was forced to miss the 1-0 defeat at home to Arsenal in their Champions League curtain-raiser. Martin Odegaard's second-half strike was enough for the Premier League champions.
McTominay is in line to make a return for the home clash with Frosinone before travelling to Spain in search of their first Champions League win.
