Manchester United fans were left seething after the Manchester derby because of one controversial refereeing decision.
Old Trafford erupted when Phil Foden was sent off for kicking out at Bruno Fernandes. Manchester United had started brightly in the 199th Manchester derby, and it seemed the Red Devils were on track to pick up three points.
But United failed to press their numerical advantage and were stung by an Erling Haaland goal in the second half. City’s goal was initially ruled out by an on-pitch offside call, but VAR mistakenly reversed the decision and allowed the goal to stand.
United lost 1-0 to City and fans were left seething at the decision. Hours later, ProRef apologised to United and admitted their “mistake”. That only aggravated fans even more…
