Manchester United failed to sign Louis Page in the summer transfer window but remained hopeful of capturing his signature in 2027.
There was no space in Manchester United’s midfield rebuild for Leicester City starlet Louis Page.
United showed interest in Page and even invited the 18-year-old midfield talent to Old Trafford, but ultimately, Ineos walked away from the deal because Leicester were demanding £12m+£3m for his signature.
Reports claim United still want to sign Page and could revisit the deal in 2027. But United’s hesitation could become extremely costly.

Man United are now facing fierce competition for Louis Page
Over the summer, Arsenal were rivalling United for Page’s signature, but it seemed that the Red Devils firmly led the transfer race.
However, a new party has now entered the race, and it is a haunting sight for United.
According to TeamTalk, Borussia Dortmund are now joining the race to sign Page from Leicester.
The report claims that Dortmund have sent scouts to watch Page in action this season. Page has impressed for Leicester, despite their disappointing start to the season.

In 2020, United almost signed Jude Bellingham, inviting the then-Birmingham City star to Old Trafford to try and convince him of a move to Manchester.
However, United missed out on Bellingham because… you guessed it… Dortmund.
Dortmund won the race for Bellingham and turned him from an exciting young talent to a world superstar. They ended up making a huge profit when Bellingham was sold to Real Madrid for £115 million.

Page is already being compared to Bellingham as he makes his name in the EFL, and United will not want a repeat of their 2020 mistake.
United have their work cut out to win the race for Page’s signature in 2027, and there will be questions asked if he doesn’t end up wearing red.
