Young striker Gabriele Biancheri has kickstarted his career playing overseas.
Academy talent Gabriele Biancheri clinched a surprise exit at the end of the transfer window, signing with Austrian club Wacker Innsbruck.
Biancheri had scored at a prolific rate for United’s academy teams, but had not been rewarded with a first team call-up.
After again being overlooked in pre-season, Biancheri sealed a permanent move away from the club at the transfer deadline.
The Wales youth international has now made his debut for the Austrian second-tier side he now calls home.
Biancheri started in Wacker Innsbruck’s 1-1 draw against Voitsberg. He played 67 minutes, although did not manage to score.
This was his first competitive game since playing for United’s under-21s at the end of last season.
Biancheri did have a loan spell at Rotherham United, but only featured four times off the bench, so his Wacker debut was his first ever professional start.
Austrian side Wacker Innsbruck have won two successive promotions and are ambitiously targeting a third.
They are already ranked third in the league this season after six games. Biancheri will feel he can play his part in their success.

Ethan Ennis also up and running
Another former Manchester United prospect has also got his season up and running after leaving the club in the summer.
Ethan Ennis joined League One side Stockport County in the summer.
Last week he made his debut in stoppage time in their win over Wigan.
At the weekend he came off the bench for the final 11 minutes in their 4-3 defeat to a Louis Page led Leicester City.
