Manchester United fans won’t have to wait too much longer to see Carlos Baleba in action.
Carlos Baleba was signed by Manchester United for £65 million this summer despite the club being aware of his ankle injury.
During his pre-season preparation at Brighton, Baleba suffered an injury and therefore has missed the start of the 2026/27 season.
But Baleba is back in training this week and it has got United fans discussing Baleba and whether or not he should be thrown into action before or after the upcoming international break.

Michael Carrick hints at Carlos Baleba’s debut
Ahead of United’s Carabao Cup third round clash against Brighton on Wednesday night, Michael Carrick spoke to the media and provided an injury update.
When asked about Baleba’s availability, Carrick said:
“He’ll be back in and around the group at some point over the next week or so, so that means after the international break he should be in good shape.”
While Carrick didn’t exactly rule out an appearance from Baleba before the break, he strongly hinted that fans will have to wait until after the break to see the £65m midfielder in action.
After the Brighton clash on Wednesday afternoon, United travel to face Fulham on Sunday afternoon and then will enter the international break.

United’s first match after the break is against Tottenham at Old Trafford on October 10, and that now seems the most likely match for Baleba’s debut.
Baleba has not been selected to be part of the Cameroon squad for the international break, so he will remain at Carrington to continue his recovery.
