‘Garnacho Mk 2’ ‘Can’t Act Like This’ Man Utd Fans React As Player Who Giggs Has Likened To Rooney Refuses To Train
Man Utd winger JJ Gabriel is so determined to leave Old Trafford that he refused to train with the first team in the build-up to the Brighton game, according to reports.
The 15-year-old could have become the youngest-ever player to play for the Red Devils, but the Manchester Evening News have confirmed that will no longer happen following his absence from training.
Supporters on X are not impressed with Gabriel’s behaviour in the slightest, with many questioning why a young player is making so many demands at his age:

Gabriel has been compared to Wayne Rooney
Speaking last week, Man Utd legend Ryan Giggs told Rio Ferdinand that Gabriel’s attitude in training was similar to another forward who made his name at a young age:
“That sounds like Wayne [Rooney], doesn’t it? Just give me the ball, give me the ball. You know, just I don’t care who I’m training with.”
Why is Gabriel pressing to leave Man Utd?
Some believe that the teenager has been poorly advised by family and others in his inner circle, but there are thought to be several factors that have led to this situation.
Gabriel was only given 8 minutes in pre-season by head coach Michael Carrick, and he hasn’t made a matchday squad so far this campaign. That would have changed against Brighton, but it appears the player feels promises have been broken.
He turned down a move to Manchester City not so long ago after being given assurances about first-team football; assurances that haven’t been backed up.
United are still believed to be hopeful of keeping Gabriel, but relations are clearly strained. The club don’t have to release him, but as he hasn’t signed a professional contract, he could still leave next year.
