Manchester United are keeping tabs on Tyrick Mitchell’s contract situation at Crystal Palace as they consider their options at left-back for next summer.
The 27-year-old is due to become a free agent at the end of the season, with interest from several Premier League and European clubs already building around his situation. Tyrick Mitchell is reportedly high on the shortlist drawn up by United’s recruitment team.
Former Manchester United chief scout Mick Brown believes Mitchell could become a serious target if he reaches the end of his Palace contract without signing a new deal.

“If Tyrick Mitchell becomes available on a free, Man United will be all over it,” Brown told Football Insider.
“Any club looking for a left-back in the Premier League, there are not many options who come up with such consistent performances as Mitchell has for Crystal Palace.”
Brown also revealed that Mitchell is already highly regarded at Old Trafford.
“From what I hear, he is already high on the list at Man United, he’s very much admired for how well he’s done at Crystal Palace.”
The former scout praised Mitchell’s defensive work while pointing to improvements in his attacking contribution.
“He impresses every single week, gets on with his job, he’s terrific defensively and he’s improved the attacking side of his game as well, he’s a top, top player.”
Crystal Palace, though, remain determined to keep Tyrick Mitchell and want him to sign a long-term contract. Brown believes his decision will ultimately play a major role in what happens next, but expects plenty of clubs to compete if he becomes available on a free transfer.
