**Michael Carrick** commented on another big blow for **Manchester United** at the start of the season.

**Benjamin Sesko** stumbled under pressure from **Olivier Boscagli** and play rolled on as a long ball was hit to **Charalampos Kostoulas** to half the deficit on the stroke of half time, rewarding the guests’ growing pressure. **Pascal Gross** grabbed a great leveller after **Diogo Dalot** could not connect with Sesko deep in buildup, and **Maxim de Cuyper** came off the bench to convert Kostoulas’ cutback.

Academy star **JJ Gabriel** seems set on leaving **Old Trafford**, and the frustration at a 1-0 loss to 10-man **Manchester City** on derby day has not been forgotten. It is Carrick’s job to galvanise the group.

_“Sometimes they come a bit easier than others. Tonight was a tough one. We didn't find a way out of it. That's up to me and the staff to help the players and guide them through it. I think we all know that in the end tonight feels like a big disappointment._
_"We've had small things that have gone against us in the last week or two and then it accumulates to feel that it's a lot bigger. I think we have to be honest and say that. The late goal against_ **_Everton_** _from outside the box. The City goal the other day. It can all of a sudden roll into something a bit greater._
