Manchester United are set to secure the future of teenage winger Noah Ajayi after reaching an agreement with the player’s representatives over a professional contract.
According to Sky Sports, the 17-year-old has agreed to remain at Manchester United after entering the final year of his scholarship deal. Ajayi is highly rated by coaches at Carrington and is now expected to commit his long-term future to the club.
The agreement comes at an important time for United’s academy following the uncertainty surrounding another highly-rated youngster, JJ Gabriel, who has reportedly asked to leave the club.
Who is Noah Ajayi?
Ajayi joined Manchester United’s academy after moving to England from Hamburger SV at the age of 10. He signed a scholarship agreement in 2025 and has since featured regularly for both the Under-18s and Under-21s.
The winger enjoyed a decent 2025/26 campaign, scoring nine goals and providing one assist across 25 academy appearances.
Standing at 6’2”, Ajayi can operate on either wing and has impressed during his development through the academy age groups.
Interest had reportedly emerged from clubs in England and elsewhere in Europe, making the agreement particularly important for United as they look to keep one of their promising young attackers.
Ajayi is now set to take another step in his development by signing his first professional contract with the club.
For United, the deal provides some welcome positive news after the recent JJ Gabriel situation. While Ajayi still has plenty of development ahead of him, the club clearly sees enough in his progress to make him part of their long-term plans.
