Liverpool transfer news as both the Reds and Manchester United are claimed to be in the running for two full-backs, including one potential free agent next summer

Liverpool already has some obvious areas to target for transfers after what has been a mixed start to the season.
Andoni Iraola’s side remains unbeaten after six games, but that run includes just one Premier League win, with some familiar issues emerging after last season’s disappointing showings. The Spaniard will be hoping he can pick up another three points at his old stomping ground when the Reds visit Bournemouth at the weekend.
Looking further ahead, the Liverpool boss has already hinted that the club could do some business in January. With full-back posing some issues during the early stages of the campaign, it’s no surprise to see the Reds linked with both right-backs and left-backs in the latest speculation.
Here is the Liverpool.com verdict on the transfer gossip to emerge around the Reds today.
Pierre Kalulu (Juventus)
Liverpool and Manchester United are both in the running to sign Juventus defender Pierre Kalulu in January, according to TuttoJuve.
Both clubs are claimed to be monitoring the progress of the 26-year-old, with a view to potentially making a move in the New Year. Juventus, though, is keen to keep hold of the player, who has nailed down a spot as Luciano Spalletti’s right-back.
Kalulu’s contract runs until 2029, and his current club wants to reward him with an extension. It’s suggested that a “particularly high offer” would be needed just to get Juve to the table, although no figure is given on that front.

Liverpool.com says: With Conor Bradley not expected back until November at the earliest, a right-back should be considered for January. Even if Liverpool is confident about the Northern Irishman's fitness, it's a risk going through the rest of the season given his injury record.
Whether Kalulu would fit the Reds' profile is another matter, and if Juventus wants big money for him, it might not be the sort of deal that suits them.
Tyrick Mitchell (Crystal Palace)
Liverpool is claimed to have joined the race to sign Crystal Palace left-back Tyrick Mitchell, with Football Insider reporting that the Reds could look to sign him next summer.
It’s suggested that Liverpool and Chelsea are now in the running for the 27-year-old, while Manchester United is also said to have been tracking him.

Mitchell is already in the final year of his contract at Selhurst Park, meaning he would be available for free next summer, but Palace is hopeful he will sign a new deal. The amount of reported interest could well spoil the Eagles’ plans, though.
Liverpool.com says: Mitchell isn't the sort of player you'd expect Liverpool to go for. You wonder whether he could make the step up to one of the Premier League's biggest teams, and at 27, the Reds likely wouldn't get many years out of him.
As a free signing though, it might be at least worth a look. If he signs a new contract, then the attention should be elsewhere.
