Nick Woltemade scored his first goal for Juventus since joining from Newcastle United on loan.
Nick Woltemade netted his first goal for Juventus in their 5-0 win against Dutch side NEC Nijmegen in the Europa League last night.
The 6ft 6in German striker was making his first start since joining from Newcastle United on a season-long loan and tucked away a penalty in the 35th minute to give Juve a 3-0 lead.
Nico Gonzalez put the Italian giants in front nine minutes. He then had the opportunity to double his tally from the penalty spot soon after Kerim Alajbegovic made it 2-0, however, the Argentine international decided to let Woltemade take it instead.

The 24-year-old had missed his last two penalties for club and country but made no mistake this time, sending the NEC goalkeeper the wrong way. Zeki Celik and Randal Kolo Muani further added to Juve’s tally before Woltemade was substituted in the 83rd minute.

Speaking at full-time, Woltemade said: "I'm happy, especially with the result. Winning at home is always positive, no game is easy. I think we did pretty well. We knew it would be a tough match. Obviously I'm happy to have scored the first goal, overall it was a good night in every way.
“The goal? Honestly, you can play as well as you want, but for a striker, scoring is always the most important thing. This will help me settle in and gain self-confidence. I'm very happy and I thank my teammate (Nico Gonzalez) for leaving me the penalty.
“For me everything is new here. I don’t yet speak Italian and each week I learn something. I am not yet satisfied — I think about how I can improve to help the team further.”

Newcastle head coach Matthias Jaissle is keeping a close eye on Woltemade during his time in Italy. Woltemade, as it stands, is due to return to Tyneside next summer as there is no obligation or option to buy in his loan agreement.
Woltemade only joined the Magpies last year for a club-record £64million but was given permission to leave having fallen behind the likes of Will Osula, Yoane Wissa, Joe Willock and new £51million signing Matias Fernandez-Pardo in the pecking order.
