Leicester City starlet Louis Page is remaining focused on the task at hand despite continued speculation over a move away from the King Power.
Leicester City had a busy summer of ins and outs after relegation from the Championship, but one man who remained was teenage midfielder Louis Page. The LCFC starlet was sought by Manchester United, however a deal could not be struck and the youngster remains with the club.
Speaking to BBC Radio Leicester, Page admitted it has been a hectic period but insisted his full focus has remained on progressing and getting the Foxes back to the Championship. He said: “It’s been a whirlwind, a lot of things going on.

“But I think for me it’s about concentrating on, I’m here at Leicester, I’ve got a contract at Leicester and my aim is to get this club back to the Championship and that’s what I want to do. Being focused and stuff, the manager has helped me loads with that, he said that he wants me to stay here and he believes that I can develop into the player that I hopefully will be one day, and I believe that he will get me there as well.”

Manchester United have been Page’s most persistent admirer, but they are not the only ones keen. Borussia Dortmund had a scout to watch the midfielder in Leicester City’s win over Stockport County.
The German giants are renowned for picking up young prospects, signing English talents like Jobe and Jude Bellingham, Jadon Sancho and Jamie Gittens over the years. It is not out of the question that they move for Page next given his eye-catching ascent.
Interest in Page has grown amid his emergence as a starter for Russell Martin‘s side. He was not in the squad against Notts County on the opening day and only came off the bench versus Burton Albion, but has started and played the full 90 minutes in the four games since.
Those four starts have yielded three assists from Page too. He has the attributes to become a real star in the middle of the park, and if he can add creative output to his game like this, interest in the LCFC ace will only grow further.

The Verdict: A move will come for Page, but he’s better off at Leicester City for now
Having emerged as a starting player and a new star for Leicester City at only 18, Page seems bound to make an exciting move up the leagues in the future. However, for now, it does feel as though he’s in a great place for his development.
The teenager has the trust of manager Martin, and he’s stepping up to deliver for a faltering LCFC side. A move to an elite team now would likely see Page put in at academy level.
As long as he’s with the Foxes, he will be gaining valuable experience in senior football. Page has shown he is more than capable of playing men’s football and although he still has developing to do, he will be able to make the jump up to a higher level in time.
The best way to prepare for that is by playing regularly in League One, and he is doing just that to great success.
