Sergej Jakirovic admits interest in managing Manchester United
Speaking to Croatian outlet Net.HR, Sergej Jakirovic, has now stated that his ambition is aimed toward managing Manchester United at some stage in his career.
āMe? Iām looking towards Manchester United, haha! Never say never. Iām looking to reach the biggest clubs here.ā
This was in response to being asked if he would ever consider a return to Dinamo Zagreb as coach, adding he meant no offence to his former club, but is targeting a higher level in his career going forward.
It may sound laughable, but the way that Jakirovic has got Hull playing is absolutely admirable, defensively solid, and currently, he has them in a European football race, after many assumed they would be the worst side in the division and finish 20th.
If Carrick doesnāt pick up three points against Fulham this weekend, he could be in for three long weeks of rumours and links for other managers to replace him at Old Trafford. So it is a must-win fixture as Jakirovic wonāt be the only manager eyeing up the job and throwing his name in the hat.
