It is the dawn of a new era for the France national team as Zinedine Zidane has taken over as new manager from Didier Deschamps following the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
Now, the Real Madrid legend has announced the first squad list of his tenure as Les Bleus prepare to get their UEFA Nations League campaign underway later this month.
And, as many as three Real Madrid stars have been named in the squad by the French legend.
Indeed, Kylian Mbappe, Eduardo Camavinga, and Ibrahima Konate all feature in the squad list announced by Zidane for the team’s upcoming Nations League fixtures.
The new manager has confirmed that Mbappe will continue as the captain of the national team.
As for Camavinga, this marks a return to the national team setup after he was left out of the World Cup squad following an underwhelming last season.
But the 23-year-old has shown positive signs under Jose Mourinho and Zidane has decided to give him an opportunity.
However, there is no call-up for Aurelien Tchouameni as he has only recently made his way back from an injury, with the manager opting not to overload the midfielder.
France will play Turkey, Belgium (twice) and Italy in the Nations League during the three-week international break.
