Followers of Manchester United's academy were all chatting about JJ Gabriel before Friday's game at Leigh Sports Village.
The fact that a 15-year-old has dominated headlines this week is surreal but Gabriel is a special talent, which is why the story has taken up column inches in newspapers and been put to Michael Carrick in two press conferences.
Speaking a few hours before the Under-21s' game against Brentford, Carrick said of Gabriel: "The situation will work itself out, whatever way it's going to work itself out. Making sure he's okay is the important thing."
