Manchester United manager Michael Carrick has lavished praise on academy sensation Shea Lacey after his impressive full debut.
Lacey made his first senior start for Man United in the Carabao Cup clash against Brighton & Hove Albion in midweek.
The 19-year-old announced himself in style, firing United into an early lead with a stunning seventh-minute goal.
However, his individual brilliance was not enough as United were ultimately beaten 3-2 by Brighton.
Carrick spoke glowingly about the 19-year-old in a recent interview with Sky Sports.
He said: “Shea Lacey is a fantastic lad. He does everything right, he wants to do well, he wants to learn.
“He waited for his chance, he was ready, and he gave himself every means to seize that opportunity when it came along.
“It’s fantastic to see someone so invested in the club.”

Lacey has worked tirelessly to reach this stage of his career. He has bagged 14 goals in 21 games for the United Under-21s.
The academy graduate has battled through the ranks at Carrington, endured frustrating spells on the sidelines because of injuries and returned stronger each time.
Marking his senior breakthrough with a goal against a strong Brighton side will have been a hugely memorable moment for both Lacey and his family.
He is still very raw but has immense potential.
With Amad Diallo sidelined through injury, Lacey now has a golden opportunity to stake his claim for a starting role on the right wing.
The youngster has the trickery to beat defenders and the vision to unlock stubborn defences.
His magical left foot gives him another weapon, while his ability to strike the ball cleanly from distance adds an extra threat to his game.
