Manchester United are travelling to London this evening to face Fulham in the Premier League on Sunday.
While five Premier League matches take place on Saturday, Manchester United travel to London by train. The main objective for Michael Carrick’s side is to get back to winning ways before the extended international break.
The 45-year-old head coach is under fire after a slow start to the season. United have won two of their first six, and a midweek defeat to Brighton saw us eliminated from the Carabao Cup.
That means there’s additional pressure on Carrick to get a result against Fulham. And, as the team arrived to board a train to London, there was one big name missing that comes as a potential blow 24 hours before the game.

Luke Shaw and Matthijs de Ligt travel with Man Utd, Benjamin Sesko not spotted
Manchester Evening News reporter Steven Railston was on alert as United travelled to London for Sunday’s clash at Craven Cottage.
It has been reported that Benjamin Sesko wasn’t spotted boarding the train to London, while Luke Shaw and Matthijs de Ligt travelled with the team.
Railston took to social media this afternoon, with the first update stating that Sesko was not spotted at the train station. He wrote: “There was no sign of Benjamin Sesko with the squad as they arrived for the train to London this afternoon. Looks like he’s a doubt for tomorrow.”
In a follow-up post on X, Railston delivered more positive news about Shaw and De Ligt returning for the trip to West London.
“Matthijs de Ligt and Luke Shaw have been included in the travelling squad as well…”
Although this isn’t confirmation that Sesko won’t be involved, it’s a worry because United don’t have another striker in the squad. It could lead to Carrick selecting Matheus Cunha or Bryan Mbeumo to lead the line.
Sesko may have boarded the train earlier or later than his teammates or travelled to London himself. The worst-case scenario would be if the Slovenian striker has sustained a fresh injury setback.
As for Shaw and De Ligt, it remains to be seen if they’ve travelled to be amongst the squad or to get amongst the action at Craven Cottage with United in dire need of three points.
