Manchester United striker Benjamin Sesko is absent against Fulham due to injury. The striker started against Brighton in the Carabao Cup on Wednesday night but it's understood he felt pain after the game.
United are assessing the issue, but Sesko is thought to have felt some discomfort in his shin again.
The 23-year-old did not play a single minute in pre-season as he recovered from the shin injury. Sesko aggravated the issue against Liverpool in May, which kept him out for the final few weeks of the season.
Sesko suggested the issue was behind him when he spoke to reporters after United's win against Sabah in the Champions League.
"I got a kick last season, but it was also a little bit of an overload from myself," Sesko said, referring to a challenge from Liverpool defender Ibrahima Konate in May.
"It was basically just to make sure that it doesn't get worse because this was kind of a problem.
"We just needed a little bit longer, longer than usual, because if you start too early, it might appear again. And I think waiting a little bit longer was a great decision, and now it's healed, so it's perfect."
Carrick has picked a striker-less attack of Marcus Rashford, Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo in the absence of Sesko.
