Manchester United prodigy JJ Gabriel has reportedly decided he wants to leave the club and has requested to be de-registered, with Chelsea reportedly the most attractive option among English clubs

Chelsea would be the preferred destination of Manchester United wantaway youngster JJ Gabriel, if he decides to stay in the Premier League. The teenager recently requested to be de-registered by United, which would give him the opportunity to move to a new club as a free agent.
He recently took a flight out to Barcelona, who reportedly pitched him a vision. Real Madrid have also been linked with the 15-year-old, who is considered to be one of the finest young talents United have ever produced.
It's been reported Stamford Bridge would be his preferred destination if he decided to remain in England. If he does move, United would be entitled to some transfer money which, based on the £2.8m of compensation Chelsea received from Liverpool when Rio Ngumoha decided to move to Anfield, could be in the millions.

Team Talk reported that amongst all the English clubs to approach him, the Blues' proposal was the most appealing. Gabriel has not yet signed a scholarship agreement with United. Young players are prohibited from signing a scholarship agreement until they reach 16 years of age, which Gabriel will do on October 6.
However, Chelsea would have to wait until January to complete the move for Gabriel, with the club being banned from signing academy players for nine months back in March.
If he were to transfer to Spain, United would be owed a modest compensation fee. This is because of regulations permitting a 16-year-old with an EU passport to transfer to a team within the European Union.
That compensation payment is determined by a tariff based on the number of years the player has been at a club. There are precedents for this occurring, such as when Arsenal signed Cesc Fabregas as a teenager and when United brought Gerard Pique to the club.

However, the fee would be considerably lower than the amount owed if he were to join an English club - a recent example being Ngumoha's move to Liverpool.
Carrick has urged restraint when questioned about the situation surrounding the prodigy, reminding the footballing world that he is still just a child. The United manager said: "I think I'd just repeat what I said the other day, really.
"I think he's a young boy, JJ, and I think it's important that we certainly don't put anything out here. I think the exposure and the scrutiny and everything that, you got to be careful and be sensible and think of him as much as anything.

Gabriel was omitted from all England youth squads amid the transfer saga this week, missing out on selection for both the under-19s and under-17s ahead of the forthcoming international break.
